AGORA  : Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture (AGORA) is an initiative to provide free access to major scientific journals in agriculture and related biological, environmental and social sciences to public institutions in developing countries. Launched in October 2003, AGORA will provide access to 843 journals from the world's leading academic publishers.
Led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the goal of AGORA is to increase the quality and effectiveness of agricultural research, education and training in low-income countries, and in turn, to improve food security. Researchers, policy-makers, educators, students, technical workers and extension specialists will have access to high-quality, relevant and timely agricultural information via the Internet.

Agricola  : The National Agricultural Library (NAL): advancing access to global information for agriculture.

The National Agricultural Library is one of four national libraries of the United States, with locations in Beltsville, Maryland and Washington, D.C. It houses one of the world's largest and most accessible agricultural information collections and serves as the nexus for a national network of state land-grant and U.S. Department of Agriculture field libraries. In fiscal year 2005 (Oct 2004 through Sept 2005) NAL delivered more than 80 million direct customer service transactions.

AGROS: Agricultural Research Directory  : The AGROS Agricultural Research Data Directory is a collection of data descriptions of USDA funded research, including soil, crop and plant, forest, rangeland, animal sciences, and other natural resource research areas, as well as economics, population, and food safety. It is linked to NASA’s Global Change Master Directory (GCMD), which includes comprehensive coverage of Earth science data, including oceans, atmosphere, hydrosphere, solid earth, biosphere, and human dimensions of global change. You can search for USDA data sets only, or all of GCMD, which includes USDA data sets.

CSU Seed Database  : The Seed Technology Educational Program (STEP) at Colorado State University, in conjunction with the USDA-ARS, has developed a unique seed database which we would like to make available for broad distribution and usage. This database contains seed pictures and descriptions of over 700 species of seeds. The database contains all of the seeds required to pass the Registered Seed Technologists examination and the Association of Official Seed Analyst's Certification.

This site contains the noxious weed seeds of each individual state as administered by the Federal Seed Act. The seed database directly links to each state for an individual noxious weed seed list. This allows the user to identify the noxious weed seed and determine if the seed is Prohibited (Primary) or Restricted (Secondary).

This seed database is multidimensional. We are in the process of revising this database. The seed database will have an impact on everyday, real-life situations within the seed industry, seed research, seed education, and other applications where seed identification is needed.

Current Research Information System  : Welcome to the Current Research Information System (CRIS) web site. CRIS is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) documentation and reporting system for ongoing and recently completed research and education projects in agriculture, food and nutrition, and forestry. Projects are conducted or sponsored by USDA research agencies, state agricultural experiment stations, the state land-grant university system, other cooperating state institutions, and participants in a number of USDA-administered grant programs, including Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and National Research Initiative (NRI), and the programs administered by the Science and Education Resources Development (SERD) unit of the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES). CRIS is an application of the Information Systems and Technology Management (ISTM) unit of CSREES, and is located in the Waterfront Centre in Washington, DC.

FAO Country Profiles and Mapping Information System  : The Food and Agriculture Organization for the United Nations and its 187 members highlight information as one of the priority areas in fighting hunger and achieving food security. The FAO Country Profiles and Mapping Information System is a pioneering information retrieval tool which groups the organization's vast archive of information on its global activities in agriculture and development in a single area and catalogues it exclusively by country.
